Hernando Cortez, artistic director of Verb Ballets, will participate in the Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders, a two-week intensive leadership advancement program at Stanford University this summer.
Fifty arts leaders from around the country will attend the program June 24-July 6, exploring new management approaches and sharing insights with peers in all arts disciplines. The program is presented by National Arts Strategies, a national nonprofit organization, and the Stanford Graduate School of Business Center for Social Innovation.
Cleveland-based Verb Ballets, now in its fifth season, performs next at 8 p.m. Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12, during the Cleveland Play House’s FusionFest. The program, “Dreamweaver,” includes surrealist-inspired works by Cortez: “Unquiet Minds,” “Like Being Awake Sleeping and Hearing Seeing” and the world premiere of “Ocean Depths,” with music by Cleveland composer and NASA Glenn technologist Richard Rinehart. For tickets, $20 and $25, call 216-795-7000.
